The Arabic numerals at 6 and 9 o’clock reference the Explorer and Air King, making the Land Dweller only the third Rolex to use Arabic numerals on the dial. These numerals are recessed, which required Rolex to develop a new luminous material combining ceramic powder with a thermosetting polymer to ensure durability and strong legibility in low light. A final subtle touch is the honeycomb shaped counterweight on the seconds hand, neatly tying the design back to the dial.

Flat Jubilee Integrated Bracelet, The  Classic Reborn   

The new Flat Jubilee bracelet takes inspiration from the original Datejust of 1945 and reworks it for a modern context. It keeps the familiar five link layout, but with updated proportions. The center links are wider, while the outer links are slimmer, giving the bracelet more visual depth without losing its clean look. Polished center links contrast with brushed outer links, adding texture without feeling flashy.

The integrated construction is a key part of the design. The bracelet connects smoothly to the case, creating a continuous, unified shape on the wrist. Movements have always been central to Rolex and  the Caliber 7135 in the Land Dweller reflects that focus. Based on the Caliber 7140, this automatic movement has been revised to support a higher beat rate while improving efficiency. Rolex reworked how power is delivered from the mainspring to the balance, resulting in more stable timekeeping without sacrificing the 66 hour power reserve.

The movement runs at 36,000 vibrations per hour or 5Hz, allowing the seconds hand to sweep more smoothly and enabling greater precision. The Dynapulse escapement uses skeletonized silicon components to reduce energy loss and is about 30 percent more efficient than a traditional Swiss lever escapement, without taking up more space. A ceramic balance staff improves durability, while the updated Paraflex shock absorbers help maintain stability in everyday wear.

The sapphire caseback allows a clear view of the movement.. While the Land Dweller is currently offered only in Rolesor and precious metal versions, it stands out as the most accessible Rolex with a transparent caseback. For collectors interested in modern Rolex movement design, it offers a compelling entry point.
