Limited 250 Pieces - 2023 New Black Ceramic Version of AP Royal Oak Offshore Music Edition

In July 2023, Audemars Piguet unveiled an updated version of its Royal Oak Offshore Music Edition watch, originally introduced in 2022. This new addition, crafted from black ceramic and measuring 37mm, features a Tapisserie dial that resembles the patterns of a music equalizer or VU meter. It joins the existing five models in the collection, each available in different materials and sizes. The watch is powered by the self-winding Calibre 5909 movement, which tracks hours, minutes, and seconds. This striking timepiece is a tribute to Audemars Piguet's long-standing collaboration with the music industry, showcasing their creative connection over the years.

A Tribute To Music

Audemars Piguet has consistently nurtured its connection with the music industry. The Royal Oak Offshore collection has fostered collaborations with diverse artists, drawing inspiration from their craft while also leaving a creative impact of its own.

This Music Edition series, introduced in 2022, pays homage to this enduring musical alliance with a fresh and distinctive look. Its Tapisserie dial mirrors the patterns of an equalizer, while textured studs evoke the feel of audio jack plugs. The crown guards take cues from the faders on mixing consoles. These self-winding models, boasting sapphire crystals gracefully curved along the 6 to 12 o'clock axis and enhanced bevels, exude a vibrant and pop-inspired aesthetic that seamlessly blends audaciousness with sophistication.

Black Ceramic With Colourful Dial

The new 37mm Royal Oak Offshore Music Edition introduces a case, bezel, and screw-locked crown, all meticulously crafted from durable black ceramic. Ceramic is an exceptionally hard material, known for its challenging workmanship, but it undergoes a painstaking finishing process to accentuate its intricate details, aligning with the exacting quality standards set by Audemars Piguet.

The design is composed of ten distinct colors printed onto the Tapisserie pattern. Instead of a date window, it adds a vibrant element to the dial. The dial is further adorned with the AP monogram in polished whit e gold at the 12 o'clock position, as well as 18-carat white gold hour markers and hands coated with luminescent material for optimal visibility, particularly in dimly lit concert venues.

This new model comes with a versatile black rubber strap featuring a "Mosaic" motif that matches the dial's color. Additionally, there are three extra straps in turquoise, yellow, and green rubber, allowing wearers to switch up their style to suit their mood and occasion.

A Latest Selfwinding Calibre 5909

This 37mm variation is powered by the latest-generation self-winding movement, the Calibre 5909, which handles hours, minutes, and seconds. The absence of a date feature allows the captivating colored pattern of the dial to take center stage. This movement offers the added benefits of a slimmer profile and a higher frequency compared to its predecessor, the Calibre 3120. It also boasts an impressive 60-hour power reserve.

The caseback, made of titanium and sapphire crystal, proudly displays the intricate hand-finishing work that goes into crafting the movement. It's elegantly engraved with the words "Limited Edition of 250 Pieces." On the caseback, you'll find traditional Haute Horlogerie embellishments like Côtes de Genève, satin-brushing, circular graining, traits tirés, and polished chamfers, along with the collection's special oscillating weight, crafted from 22-carat pink gold and treated with a NAC coating. The inscription reads: "Seek Beyond."
